With just 24 hours separating all of the planning that has gone into Extravaganza 2018 and the reality of it all come tomorrow morning, I am pleased to announce the Official Line Up of E-18’s Magnificent Ones.
Leading off, as they have each done so well for more than a decade now, the seasoned Ones are highlighted by the long-in-the-tooth wonderful Bay Area combo of cpa John “SOS” Reimann and engineer par excellence Demetry “The Ghost” Kondrasheff who, year after year, continue to wow Da Ones with the former’s fishing antics (thus bestowing him the “save our ship” moniker) and the latter’s fishing prowess—many, many a twenty inch fish has he logged onto our Twenty Inch club board! Also returning this year after a multi-season respite, is international ferrous metal expert Jim “Wild Man” Hendrickson and his beautiful bride “Maria The Marvelous”, each hailing from Incline Village, Nevada.
Son Tyler “Lefty’ Clausen joins the Ones for the first time in many years (he is usually a fixture of Dem Threes), armed with his famous bamboo rod that landed a 31” Blackfoot bull trout on one of his last outing with us. And, get this, his sister, attorney Trina “Boots” Clausen, a Missoula resident and frequent past Extravaganza visitor, will be joining the Ones for the first time as a full-time player, nicely joined by her former beau barrister Shane “Griz” MacIntyre—I say “former beau” because last Saturday the two became engaged, are now betrothed and will be married here at headquarters next February 16th. WOW, does that make a dad proud!!
Returning veterans all are Bay Area hvac guru Chris “Big Stick” Barger (all charged up and read to go as he is each year with us) and SoCal financial advisor Craig “El Senor Feo” Benjamin who, this year, is joined not only by veteran sidekick Joe “Great Wall” Arnao but also by his fiancĂ©, rookie Lai Na “La Senorita Bonita” Ching.
Nearly half of this year’s Ones are rookies who include, in addition to future son-in-law (never had one of those before, btw!) Griz mentioned above, find cpas each Doug Jones and Mark Spencer flying in to Extravaganzaland from Phoenix, AZ, Bay Area financial advisor Peter Karp and his fishing pal Hugh Thatcher, Rajeev Mishra from the southern part of the Golden State and lastly, but certainly not least, NoCal Krispy Kreme mogul Jimmy Albano—each of whom are in search of their to-be-doffed Montana names, but the latter Kremer certainly have a leg up with advanced considerations of either Da Nut our Doughman…hmm, we will just have to wait and see, but not for long now!!
So there you have it, the seventeen-strong Ones of Extravaganza 2018…may the fishing gods be with each of you!!
Best to all from the scene of it all,
Rock Creek Ron
